[The thought was meant to be to herself, but bleeds through their connection as a tired sigh. What exactly is that kid doing going around telling people these sorts of things? AND WHO IS HE CALLING OLD???]

I'm Lightning, yeah. Not a whole lot of other people around here with the name.

[And if there is, she'd like to meet 'em.]

Well...I wasn't trying to contact anyone actually. I was just thinking about what to bake for Shiro. [A beat.]

Right, and it just so happened to send those thoughts to me. [She still sounds unconvinced, but what else is new.] But uh, yeah... you too.

[Even though they haven't really 'met', so to speak. She isn't really sure what else she should say, so maybe it's time to just end it there.]

[And so she tries to hang up the call then, but what follows is a really awkward silence where she thinks she's hung up but hasn't......]

[And here is Naruhodou thinking she had hung up, muttering to himself.]

That was embarrassing. [He sighs. All right, just shake it off. Cake seems like a good idea! And now Lightning is just going to get an episode of how to bake a cake. Literally, a visual of ingredients mixing together. The only thing missing is someone narrating what they're doing.]

[W h...at...

Lightning picks up her crystal from against her chest and stares at it as if it's broken. Didn't she just "hang up" a second ago? Why is she getting a walkthrough of how to make a cake? For starters, she's an expert at cake-making and doesn't need a lesson from a stranger... but w...h...y...

She just watches for a moment before mentally piping up once she sees the flour.]

Make sure you break up the flour with a whisk first.

[SURPRISE, she's still here too!!]

Oh, yea I--Wha?! [There's nothing else for a moment, as Naruhodou needed to save his bowl full of ingredients from falling onto the ground.]

Why are you--are you eavesdropping?! [Didn't she hang up?!]

[That's what she thought, too!]

No. I hung up. Why are you calling me again? ... I know how to make cakes.

[BUT WHAT IS HAPPENING]

I'm not! Look, I'm cutting this off right now. [There's silence, and it seem to have worked until-]

Huh...I wonder if there's a cake big enough to hold all those candles for someone as old as Lightning-san...

[Without even a beat of hesitation:]

How old do you think I am?

[Is he looking for a fight!?!?!!???!]

[...........meekly]

Over five hundred, according to Sora? [HE'S NOT GOING TO TAKE ALL THE BLAME.]

[Oh my god, Sora??? Just how much is he talking about her to other people, and why is he telling them that she's over five hundred years old?!?]

For the record, I'm twenty-three. And there're plenty of cakes that'll fit twenty-three candles.

[She should know, she makes them!!! As for Sora—]

Someone's gonna get a talking to.

Oh, twenty-three. That's not so bad. [He laughs nervously.]

I'm sorry. [And good luck Sora.] And at this point, I think there might be something wrong with the amulets.

Yeah, I'm thinking so. You won't get out of my head.

[And she'll get a few more unexpected calls that she doesn't want, but at least Naruhodou was nice about it. This could have gone a lot worse, minus the fact that he initially thought she was five-hundred years old.

... That one's on Sora, though.]

What do you think might be going on? No offense, but I keep trying to hang up and nothing works.

I'm about as clueless as you are, but the logical assumption is the source for these amulets to work must be acting up. [...] Which leads to the question of how?

I'm no detective, [which means she won't be looking further into this past whatever they discuss here] but if you find out who or what's doing this, let me know.
